What do you think of the club mag. Is it too old fashioned? Would bi monthly or quarterly be better? Is that front cover dated? What would you like to see in future issues?

I look forward to seeing the magazine. I wouldn't object to it being bi monthly. I know content can be an issue as people don't always rush forward to contribute. that said there could be articles from years ago that would be interesting to us newer members, these could be republished.

Admittedly I am only new to the club and having grown up around computers am perfectly happy using digital media, that being said I realise there are plenty who are not and nothing beats the feel of physical media.

So my take on it would be to make it quarterly. That way it should increase the quality or amount of articles in each issue, allows those organising more time and less stress to complete, and should reduce the costs associated with its production and shipping.

This should stave off the need to take it totally digital.

Bi-monthly is a popular format with lots of clubs, Pre50AAC, Cadillac Owners Club GB and Classic Corvette Club UK to name just 3. One of its main advantages is that you halve the yearly cost of printing and postage which would be a considerable saving. Another advantage is it allows the editor more time to put the edition together, especially when getting content can be like pulling teeth.

Lot's of clubs and societies have gone down the digital route, but is that a good thing? It's certainly cheaper, but given that the Classic Car Community has a fair number of us 'older' folk, you risk losing those that don't do internet or aren't comfortable with the format. I'm very happy with using a computer, in fact a couple of years ago I switched to a digital subscription for Classic American, but I didn't like it. There's something 'special' about picking up a magazine and thumbing through it.

Content is a very personal thing in terms of what people prefer, but you could argue the more pictures you have, providing you've got people willing to send them in, more appealing it is. We all do it, we look at the pictures then we go back and read the words just like we did when we were kids :) .

I've had a subscription for Classic American print version for a few years now, love taking the wrapper off and flicking through the pictures - then go back and read the articles later. Same with the club mag. I get bored looking at digital content (phone/iPad/desktop) after just a couple of minutes.
Uncomfortable taking the desktop to bed for a read as well.
